So do you keep the bw as a multiply and paint underneath? Or you paint over the top with textures?

That's very helpful. It's almost how I would have done it; putting core color under the sketch as a hard multiply layer, then a paint over and finally some textures.

How long did he whole process take, including the b/w sketch?
